Behind The Scenes

Rosie has said all along how Bill Geddie was the controlling force behind The View, well Friday’s show proved her right. He controls every aspect of that show and the co-hosts, including what Whoopi eats in the morning. Nothing like one man telling 4 women what to do and say about womens topics.

One thing this behind the scenes show proved was all this time I was so wrong to put Joyless down for her cringe-worthy one liners. She isn’t even creative enough to come up with them on her own, she has writers that actually come up with her “jokes” ( I use the term loosely) that she will work spontaneously into the conversation.

Sherri actually proved to be the one that seemed the most likable of the current group. I know, I know, never thought I would use the words Sherri and likeable in the same sentence.

Did anyone else think the prop guy going into the store and asking for some little girls low cut panties equal parts creepy and hilarious?

The View Daytime Emmy Nominations

As we all know by now, The View has been nominated for both Outstanding Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show Host. Well they didn’t win last year which was arguably their strongest yet, so they don’t have a snowballs chance in hell at winning this year. However if The Emmys would start handing out some awards in new categories, well I think they would actually have a strong showing. It’s because of this I have thought of just a few suggestions for the people at the Emmys to mull over:

Best Geographical Knowledge Faux Pas: Sherri “The World Is Flat” Shepherd

Best Constantly Constipated Face: Whoopi “I’m Wonderful” Goldberg

Best Blatant Ass Kissing: Elisabeth “You’re Right Barbara” Hasselback

Best Mileage From Clinton/Lewinsky Jokes Years After The Fact: Joy “ba-dum-bum-CHING” Behar

Best Ability To Make Your Ears Bleed If You Hear The Word Audition One More Time: Barbara “It’s Never My Fault” Walters

These are just a few ideas, please send more. I know I would watch The Emmys with a lot more interest if they would make some effort to entertain the audience.

Whoopi

I admit it, I love Rosie. I loved her show, and I couldn’t wait for her to come to The View. Whether you love or hate her (there never seems to be a middle ground) she was at least decent to the other ladies.

Now on to Whoopi. I have always liked her, but she has become the most grating presence on television. Besides her one redeeming comment to psuedo-celebrity Denise Richards about her reality show, she is terrible.

Whoopi The Great, which is what I imagine she says whenever she looks in the mirror, has the final say about everything. Watch one show and you will see how condescending she is. Sherri may not be the brightest bulb, and Elisabeth is just ridiculous, but Whoopi is downright rude. When I find myself defending Elisabeth I know it’s bad.

Yesterday they were talking about the Tony nominated Broadway show In The Heights, and yet again we learned from Whoopi The Great, she was the only one in the theater who could understand it.

Joy brought up how the Arias from operas are the high point and Whoopi had to point out how an Aria is from an opera, a point Joy had made.

Maybe I am the only one but c’mon All Knowing Whoopi, lay off, remove the stick, and lighten up!
